BRANDON’S BM

There were two exciting events happening this past weekend. It was Brandon’s Bar Mitzvah and Superbowl XLVI.  It was a no brainer to incorporate   both of them together to form Brandon’s Superbowl XIII. Cedar Hill Country Club was the location of the event.  Jersey Street Furniture designed an incredible looking room with the colors of Brandon’s favorite team, The Philadelphia Eagles. Our first glimpse was at the entrance way when you drove up to the venue, there were uplights in teal.  When you entered the main ballroom, the entire room was decorated in teal and grey including teal carpet which had a 6 ft. border in grey all around. We had new Bolster furniture and a stainless steel bar with a frosted plexi back with his logo lit up. The highlight of the room was the 76 foot illuminated wall that was created that had pictures of Brandon, his family and his logo which was then uplit in white. Gregg Mistretta from Pure Energy had the guests rocking all night and Millburn Florist had beautiful flowers to accent the room. This was truly a WOW event as you can see from the amazing pictures taken by Jamie K Photography.

Will’s Bar Mitzvah

Will’s Bar mitzvah was spectacular. It was a true blue affair. The nature and meaning of blue is calm and cool and that’s just what this affair was.  Everything in the room from the cocktail party to the main ballroom was BLUE representing Will’s love for the New York Giants and Yankees. Jersey Street Furniture transformed Cedar Hill Country Club into the sophisticated “W” club while Gregg Mistretta from Pure Energy energized the guests as they danced all night long on the unbelievable WILL designed dance floor.  The ballroom carpet, uplighting, flowers, pillows and even rock candy were all blue.  It was all so cool. We customized the tables with “W” at the base and big W’s were displayed  throughout the room. All different textures and types of fabric were used to make the room so unique.  Wendy Robinson was the photographer and she was busy capturing incredible shots of this upbeat crowd. And lastly…a big cheer to our Giants...GO BIG BLUE!

BAR BLOG

When decorating a room for a party it is always important to think about a bar. How many do we need and how can it be incorporated into the decor?   A bar is more or less a social gathering place for guests to hang around or casually get a drink. Kids and adults generally have separate bars and are located throughout the room. There are  many creative things you can do to make the bar area blend into the decor.   They can be covered in plexiglass, lit up, tufted, or mirrored.  Floral is always a nice addition and  even a name can be shown. You can see from the images below how bars can be displayed and how integral they can be to decorating the room.  You can also look forward to the possibility of the guest of honor having a signature drink waiting for you!

DECOR TRENDS

In the past, a carnival, circus or a sports theme were a big part of what mitzvahs were all about.  Nowadays, the juvenile themes have taken a backseat to the current party trends which is all about the color.  Its about feeling the essence of it and seeing a beautifully decorated room and how the room “looks and feels.”  You may choose a  single color or a color scheme to show throughout the space.  We are seeing less glitz and a more down to earth look and feel. Evidently, our most popular request is the lounge look. The kids like to feel mature as if they are in a grown-up club. This look incorporates alternative style seating arrangements for kids and adults, which can create a more fun and an informal setting. The room is filled with cocktail, high top and long tables along with ottomans and soft seating dispersed throughout the area.  Light-up tables, lucite, glass, plexi, crystals, beads and textured fabrics for linens are very of the moment trends. Lighting is also a big factor to add to the finishing touches as it accentuates the room and makes the party look very appealing.  Some new furniture fads include using oversized props like lamps and home decor accessories. These are a great filler to use for large spaces.  Also, unique ceiling treatments with fabric and crystals and down-lighting rooms is requested.  This is the reverse of up-lighting.

To sum up…the lounge look is still all the rage and Jersey Street Furniture has the perfect combination of furniture and event planning ideas to make your party an unforgettable memory!

Jingle Ball 2011

Jersey Street Furniture had the honor of being a vendor at this year’s Z100 Annual Jingle Ball Concert.  The hottest concert in New York City basically sums up the years end of contemporary pop. Some musical performers were Foster the People, Pitbull, Lady Gaga, LMFAO, Demi Lovato and many more. During the day we were at The Hammerstein Ballroom where we created 4 lounges and then designed the VIP lounge with draping, furniture and logos. In the evening we moved to Madison Square Garden where we designed 2 VIP lounges. It was exciting to be a part of this years coolest event!

OLD CITY CHARM

Max’s Bar Mitzvah took place at Front & Palmer~Philadelphia’s newest event venue located in the South Kensington Art District . Jersey Street Furniture designed a lounge atmosphere in the open loft area adding to the charm of the existing brick and steel located throughout the room. The appeal of the room was enhanced by its existing art chandeliers and wood floors.  Creative Imagery captures the beauty of the room as we can see from their images. The colors were brown and grey which complimented the look of the space and custom logo’d pillows were seen on the couches. The adult tables were draped with grey circle taffeta with a combination of votives and florals for their centerpieces. The party had an overall industrial vibe which was fitting for a site that was formerly a barrel factory in downtown Philly.

ERICA’S GALLERY

Erica is a budding photographer at the ripe age of 13.  She is an extremely artistic and creative young girl.  Erica showed her talents and photographed floral, scenic and beach shots to be used as a backdrop for her decor.  Jersey Street transformed the room at event venue ~Pure~ and used these images to create three gallery walls showcasing her work. The guests walked into “Erica’s Gallery” with its hard wood floors and all white leather furniture and had the feeling of a being in a real art gallery for the night.  The variety of pillows added a nice touch which included camera shots, words and her initials. The kids sat in a lounge area and the adults had tables with crystal tree centerpieces.  Altogether, the room was a real work of art.

ZEBRA GALORE

There is nothing that lightens up a space better than a little animal print.  Jersey Street Furniture added touches of the classic zebra print to give an element of surprise and adventure to Lindsay’s Bat Mitzvah at Crestmont Country Club.  The room was filled with black, white, hot pink and zebra with lime green accents. We see glimpses of the zebra print on lampshades (with hot pink marabou on them), square tables topped with black candelabras, as well as accents on logo’d pillows. The other tables were for the host and hostess and done differently from the others.  They had black sequin tablecloths with centerpieces that were tall cylinder vases with floral coming out. The guest sat on silver chairs and bar stools to complete the classic look.  Another element was the lounge seating were filled with eden ottomans and metal frames with crystals hung on them with a cone shape vase in the floral center. The look was chic, fashion forward and sophisticated.

CLUB JK

The Park Avenue Club was converted into a disco themed B’nai Mitzvah party for Kiki and Jason.  Jersey Street created a silver and purple themed room called Club JK. Saskia Marina Photography presents us with pictures of the colorful atmosphere of the room.  As you can see, the kids area was filled with black leather couches topped with several different black logo’d pillows. There were fabulous ottomans that filled the kids area as well. One was topped with a purple zebra metallic covering, the other was black and green, and another had the large logo Club JK in the middle. There was plenty of couches for the kids to chill out and relax. Some other elements to describe the room were three different centerpieces filled the adult tables. They all were so creative and unique.  One had a sequin lampshade with purple disco balls with floral and votives at the base, another table had a silver chandelier with floral and votives, and the third was a metal tier embellished with votives, disco balls and floral. The adults and kids boogied and rocked all night long!

THE SPORTY GIRL

Dani is a sports-loving girl. They are a part of her everyday life.  Jersey Street Furniture took her love of it and created a beautiful theme for her Bat Mitzvah at Twin Brooks Country Club. Carolina Wahnish Rivera Photography was on deck to capture this fun filled party.  Her color scheme was turquoise and white.  The dance floor was covered in all white and the chandeliers in the room were covered with assorted black and white photographs with turquoise highlights of Dani and her family.  The adult tables had a combination of branches and floral arrangements to create an outdoor, relaxed kind of feel.  Par for the course, Dani’s logo was a tuquoise and white adidas sign with her date seen on many things as well as logo’d pillows. The room was filled with lots of sporty details and the crowd rallied all night long.
